Heian Era Beauty by Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Heian Era Beauty

Comments - Charming portrait of a Heian era beauty looking suspiciously over her shoulder, elegantly dressed in formal court attire. She wears an outer robe with a scene of islands dotted with palm trees and a fishing net strung out to dry, with a flock of plovers flying above the water, over a pair of full red pants, the long legs trailing beneath her feet. The background features a border of clouds at the top edge. A nicely detailed design.

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 3/4" + left margin as shown

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Horizontal centerfold. Small loss, a few holes repaired. Creasing. Please see photos for details.
