Nakamura Shikan IV as Fuwa Banzaemon, 1861

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan IV as the evil samurai Fuwa Banzaemon practicing martial arts with a wooden sword, frowning angrily. He grips the weapon above his head with both hands, his sleeves tied back with a green cord. His black pants have been tucked up at the waist to keep them out of the way. A nice expressive figure.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. A few repaired, slight creasing, rubbed spot. Please see photos for details.
