The Subscription List - Great kabuki portrait of the warrior monk Benkei in the famous play "Kanjincho" (The Subscription List). Here, he hops on one foot as he glares angrily over his shoulder, a walking stick in one hand and the other thrown out at his side. He wears a yamabushi or mountain monk's stole trimmed with pompoms over a black vest with writing on it, and a plaid kimono tucked into full white pants patterned with Buddhist wheels. A nice expressive figure, detailed with a burnished pattern on the black vest.
