Comments - Charming scene of Prince Genji paying a surprise visit to a sweetheart, standing outside the mosquito netting surround the beds of two beauties. He tilts his head with a sly grin, a fan with a flower in his hand. In the center, a beauty emerges from beneath the netting, holding her sleeve shyly to her mouth as she looks up at the visitor. Her companion at right watches with a slight frown as she raises herself from the futon, the black lacquer of the pillow stand before her decorated with a Genji symbol. At left, another woman peers around the corner, listening intently. Incredible detail in the fine lines of the netting. The first time we've seen this attractive design.
