Iwai Kumesaburo III as Tadakuni's Daughter Princess Shiranui, 1859

Comments - Charming kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo III as Tadakuni's daughter Princess Shiranui in the play "Matsu Icho Tsurukame Soga," playfully turning her head with a smile as she holds a wooden pole with a blossoming cherry branch tied to it. Her kimono is shaded from pink to light green with a pattern of flowers and tie-dyed clouds, the sleeves tied back with a sash. Panels lining the room behind her depict a blossoming plum tree. An attractive design with a sweetly expressive figure.
