Famous Places in Tokyo: Gofuku Bridge, 1868

Comments - Interesting scene of a procession making its way over Gofuku Bridge in Tokyo and entering through the palace gate. Men dressed in matching dark purple coats and yellow and black hats lead the way, each shouldering a gun with bayonets fixed. At right, a nobleman rides on horseback. At top center, a shachihoko, a traditional roof ornament with the head of a tiger and the body of a carp, tops the tiled roof. A nicely detailed design.
