Comments - Dramatic kabuki scene of a sumo wrestler fighting off his enemies using a ladder as a weapon. He lifts the ladder above his head with both hands, scowling furiously as the fellow at left thrusts a lantern at him. At right, another man recoils from the violence, throwing his hand out in alarm. A fantastic design with a bold composition, the large expressive figures nicely set off by the deep blue sky.
