Series; Famous Warriors in Combat

Sasai Kyuzo and Shinbu Kenpachiro, 1856 - Fantastic depiction of the young Sasai Kyuzo battling Shinbu Kenpachiro. Kyuzo served Oda Nobunaga, fighting his first battle at the age of thirteen. Here, he pins Shinbu Kenpachiro to the ground, kneeling atop his back and grabbing him as Kenpachiro struggles to free himself. Kyuzo stares down at his opponent with a determined expression, his hair blowing about his head. The walls and towers of a castle can be seen in the distance against the night sky, framed by a pine tree at right. A great design with large expressive figures and wonderful detail in the armor.
