Scattering Soybeans a New Year's

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a samurai tossing roasted soybeans up in the air, a custom known as setsubun that took place in the New Year to chase away evil spirits and welcome in good luck and prosperity for the coming year. The warrior just below him seems agitated, throwing out one hand before him as he grips a spear in his other hand. Both samurai wear armor over colorful robes. A nicely detailed design with expressive figures.
