Iwai Kumesaburo as the Prostitute Otomi, 1860

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo as the prostitute Otomi waving her hand excitedly as she stands in front of a log step into the home behind her. A red lacquer tray on the floor holds a large platter of sushi, with a sake bottle nearby. She wears a diamond pattern kimono over a red under robe, tied with a black obi that reverses to a tie-dyed pattern. A handsome design with an interesting setting, detailed with burnishing on the black collar and obi.
