Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of an elderly woman holding a sword tucked at her side, tilting her head and looking slyly up at the samurai beside her. He glares at her with a tight-lipped frown as he pushes his sleeve at. At right, an elegantly dressed nobleman watches the pair closely, his brows furrowed, while the beauty at left leans forward with a slight smile. The room opens onto a garden with a stone lantern beside a pond and a blossoming cherry tree. Nicely detailed with embossing on the matron's white hair, burnishing on the black areas of the beauty's obi, and accents of metallic pigment that have oxidized to a dark tone.
