Original Masaharu Aoyama (1893 - 1969) Japanese Woodblock Print
Castor Bean Plant

Comments - Terrific image of a castor bean plant with deep burgundy leaves and delicately shaded rose-colored stalks. Spires covered with clusters of tiny white and pink buds are topped with feathery blossoms, creating a striking contrast to the bold shape and scale of the leaves. A wonderfully bold design with real graphic impact, published by Uchida.

Artist - Masaharu Aoyama (1893 - 1969)

Image Size - 9 7/8" x 15 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Slight thinning and paper remnants on reverse at top corners from previous mounting. Slight toning, a few light creases, wrinkling and raised bumps in lower left. Please see photos for details.
