Beauty with a Small Chest

Comments - Handsome portrait of a beauty holding a small chest of drawers, perhaps for hair ornaments or jewelry. She grins happily as she looks up, a roll of tissues tucked into her obi. She wears a violet kimono with a blue print collar over a red under robe, her hair simply arranged in a large smooth bun adorned with a comb and a few hairpins. The background features bands of softly shaded circular motifs with embossed patterns between the top two bands, adding graphic interest. The title cartouche takes the form of a plectrum or pick for a shamisen, next to an open book. A charming design, nicely detailed.
