Suketakaya Takasuke IV as Sakuramaru, 1885 - Terrific kabuki portrait of Suketakaya Takasuke IV backstage preparing for the role of Sakuramaru , one of triplet samurai who become the victims of divided loyalty. He looks to the side with an angry frown, his brows slightly furrowed. He wears an informal blue and white kimono as he sits in front of a large mirror with a red lacquer frame. A fantastic image with fine line work in the hair and soft shading in the surface of the mirror. A great look at an actor in his dressing room.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 7/8 x 9 1/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A couple small repairs, slight rubbing at lower right, a few stains. Please see photos for details.
