Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauties Strolling

Comments - Charming scene of beauties strolling, the mother at left carrying a young child on her back. She pauses to speak to a companion, who carries the latest Western accessory, an umbrella, which is oddly trimmed with fur or feathers. At right, a girl looks back over her shoulder, her kimono shaded from light blue to green with embossed daisies. Soft yellow clouds drift across the background. An attractive design, nicely detailed with a delicate pattern on the mother's kimono and burnishing on the black coat at right.
