Comments - Handsome scene of the Meiji Emperor and ladies-in-waiting in a pavilion built out over a pond, enjoying the spring flowers. At top center, the Meiji Emperor stands on a verandah under a trellis covered with delicate wisteria blossoms, pointing across the lake. At bottom, women kneel along the shore beside large peony blossoms. Wonderful detail in the setting and elegant clothing.
