The Dragon Princess Riding an Octopus - Interesting scene from the tale of the fisherman Urashima Taro and the Dragon Princess. According to legend, Urashima Taro rescued a turtle from some children who were teasing it. The animal rewarded him with a visit to the Dragon King's Palace beneath the sea, where the Dragon Princess entertained him. Here, the Dragon Princess rides on an octopus with Urashima Taro leading her along with one of the creature's tentacles. The palace can be seen rising above the water in the distance at upper life. The sea is colored with a fine spattering of blue pigment. A charming and amusing design from this popular story.
