A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers - Fantastic print from a rare 47 ronin series by Hiroshige published by Senichi circa 1835 - 1839. The 16 print series is known for its extensive treatment of Act 11, "The Night Attack," with 6 prints devoted to the parts of this act showing the ronin traveling to Moronao's mansion, the attack itself, the return to Edo, and finally the visit to Lord Hangan's tomb. These lively designs include nicely detailed settings, framed by a border with a Greek key pattern interspersed with the black inverted comma crest of Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin. A great series of this timeless tale of honor and revenge.
