Series; Twelve Months of Genji in the Modern Style

The First Month (Mutsuki), 1859 - Charming portrait of Prince Genji sitting on a cushion, holding a shallow red lacquer cup of sake and smiling as he looks up. A low folding screen at behind him features flying cranes with poem slips tied to their legs, and the alcove behind the screen holds hanging scrolls with paintings of bamboo and one of the Seven Lucky Gods. Nicely detailed, with a lightly embossed floral pattern on Genji's pale pink and white kimono.

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 10" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Paper mounts on reverse at corners. A couple small repairs, wrinkling throughout. Please see photos for details.
