Bando Hikosaburo V as Kono Moronao

Series; The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers (Kanadehon Chushingura)

Bando Hikosaburo V as Kono Moronao - Terrific kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo V as Lord Moronao from the classic play "Kandehon Chushingura," based on the true tale of the 47 ronin. He looks up with an evil sneer, his brows furrowed, gesturing peevishly with his hand. He wears a green floral patterned kimono tucked into black hakama pants featuring the white paulownia crest of the court. A great expressive figure with wonderful detail in the face and hair.

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with nice color and detail as shown. Very slight paper remnants on reverse from previous backing. A few wormholes, repaired. Light rippling and curling. Please see photos for details.
