Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Omatsuri Kingoro and Bando Shuka I as Gaku no Kosan, 1859

Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait featuring Bando Shuka I as the beauty Gaku no Kosan, smiling happily as looks up at her companion, a roll of tissues caught between her teeth. Omatsuri Kingoro looks down with a worried frown as he holds a cup of sake in one hand and a metal hairpin in the other. He wears a geometric print kimono over a black undergarment, a dotted towel draped over her shoulder. Nice expressive figures set off by a deep blue background.

Image Size - 14" x 9 5/8"

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Backed with paper. Light spotting on Kingoro's face. Please see photos for details.
