Comments - Handsome scene of the Meiji Emperor and Empress riding in the royal carriage as they leave the New Imperial Palace. The couple can be seen through the window of the elegant black lacquer coach topped with a golden phoenix. Soldiers on horseback accompany the procession, which include sever other red carriages. An attractive design with a nice landscape setting, also in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
