Comments - Lovely scene of the famous ancient pine tree at Karasaki during rain. Wooden boughs support the spreading boughs of the tree, and a lone figure with an umbrella pauses under the branches for shelter. Beautifully drawn in soft black and white, resembling an ink and wash painting, with just a touch of yellow coming from the lantern at left. A peaceful, contemplative image in a rare, large format size. Published by Uchida on watermarked paper with publisher's seal within image at lower right and publisher information in lower left margin.
