Ichikawa Sadanji as Takechi Mitsuhide, 1878 - Handsome kabuki scene from one of the many plays about the samurai Takechi Mitsuhide (the real-life Akechi Mitsuhide), who betrayed his lord, Oda Nobunaga. The beauty in the center is a Tennin, a heavenly Buddhist spirit, who wears an ornate headdress topped with a phoenix and trimmed with beads, a green sash fluttering around her head. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black court cap. From left, the actors are Onoe Kikugoro as the yakko or servant Konoshita Tokichi, Ichikawa Sadanji as Takechi Mitsuhide, Onoe Kikgoro again as Konshita Fujiyoshi, Iwai Hanshiro, Ichikawa Danjuro as Okukawaya, and Bando Kakitsu as Oda Shunsui.
