Man in a Fan Print Kimono, 1859 - Handsome kabuki portrait of a commoner looking intently over his shoulder with a worried expression. He wears a striking kimono with a design of folding fans with red tassels and pine sprigs, over a red under robe with a black collar. A blue and white towel is draped casually over his shoulder. The title cartouche takes the form of a book cover with an open book of text beside it. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black collar and mica on the background.
