Drastic Price Reduction Moved to Clearance, Act Fast! - Lovely woodblock print from a Meiji release of Hiroshige's Ehon Edo Miyage, an illustrated book of landscapes originally published in ten volumes in 1850. In the early 20th century the publisher Nisshindo published the series in the form we are selling - without the centerfold of the picture book. Nisshindo publishing was well known in the late 19th and early 20th century for republishing several famous print series, including series by Hiroshige, Hokusai, and Utamaro. This print release is referred to as the Meiji Commemorative Edition of the Edo Miyage, dating around 1906 or 1907.
