Snow Scene at Shinobazu Pond in Ueno - Fantastic triptych of three beauties walking through the snow along Shinobazu Pond in Edo. Each carries an umbrella under the gently falling snow. The beauty at right wears a short coat over her kimono, while the other two have scarves wrapped around their heads against the color winter air. Their tall wooden geta sandals leave distinctive marks in the snow, and a small dog licks its front paw at far left. Behind them, a narrow walkway leads to an island in the center of the pond that houses a shrine to Benten. A wonderful Hiroshige beauty subject and a classic winter landscape with fine shading in the water and sky.
