Series; The Twelve Months

The Second Month: Viewing Plum Blossoms, 1854 - Charming image of beauties on an outing to view the blossoming plum trees at night. Two beauties relax on platforms in the garden, the woman at left taking a toothpick from her mouth, containers of food on a tray before her. In the center, two women clasp hands, one holding a sake of copy in her other hand. The beauty at right smiles eagerly as she leans forward, anxious to join the party. Her intricately patterned gray kimono features dancing foxes along the hem. A low bamboo fence encloses an ancient plum tree covered with blossoms and buds. An attractive early spring scene.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. A couple holes, repaired. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details.
