Yamaoka Kakubei's Wife, circa 1846 - Attractive portrait of with wife of Yamaoka Kakubei, one of the famous 47 ronin. She stands on a deck holding a lantern aloft, looking up over her shoulder. Beyond the snow-covered trees in the distance, the ronin can be seen clambering over the rooftop of Lord Moronao's mansion during the night attack. A full moon glows above. A lovely design from this rarely seen series.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Backed with paper. Stitching holes at side, repaired. Slight rubbing, ink marks. Please see photos for details.
