Morning Breeze and Clear Weather in the Fifth Month at Ueno, 1890 - Fantastic scene from the kabuki play "Satsuki-bare Ueno Chofu" showing a sword fight in the rain between Ikeda Ookuma no kami and Shinohara Kunimoto. Ikeda grips his sword with both hands, raising it high above his head as Shinohara thrusts his blade at his chest. Shinohara wears a fantastic flowing red wig and a dramatic black jacket and shirt with gold buttons. Bullets streak across the dark night sky as rain slants down across the scene. The temple behind them is in flames. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Sadanji and Onoe Kikugoro. A great design detailed with burnishing on the black uniform.

Image Size - 14" x 28" + left margin as shown
