Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of the Soga Brothers on their way to avenge the murder of their father. At right, a beauty holds a lantern high as she beckons them to enter the lodge where their enemy, Lord Suketsune, is sleeping. In the center, Juro scowls as he looks to the side, water rushing into a black container from the bamboo pipe that he has just sliced in two. Goro strikes a bold pose at left, grimacing angrily with one hand thrust out, the other gripping his sword. He wears his trademark butterfly kamishimo over a white kimono with blue stripes, his wild hair sticking out around his head. Raindrops fall straight down over the scene, with a pine tree framing the night sky at left. An interesting design with expressive figures.
