Nagakubo: Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Ichikiri Gorota - Terrific image from Toyokuni III's only Kisokaido series, featuring bust-length actor portraits in front of landscapes of the various stations. Here, the commoner Gorota leans forward with an alarmed expression as he carries a stone block. He wears a blue kimono with a large seal on the back, a dotted cloth wrapped around his head. The landscape above shows travelers in the mountains at Nagakubo. A nice expressive figure.

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 1/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal and vertical folds. A few wormholes, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, slight toning and soiling, a few marks. Please see photos for details.
