Comments - Attractive scene of a matron unpacking a large chest filled with bolts of fashionable brocade cloth wrapped in paper. She holds two different patterns in her hands, smiling as she examines them. She wears an intricately patterned gray kimono tied with a print obi, her hair pulled back into a neat loop adorned with a few simple hairpins. Stacks of fabric are piled on the floor, and a low red lacquer table holds a writing set and book. An interesting subject, nicely detailed, with fine bokashi shading in the background.
