Comments - Charming hashira-e or pillar print of the young couple Rikiya and Konami from the famous kabuki play about the 47 ronin, "Kanadehon Chushingura." The samurai looks down at his sweetheart with a smile, while Konami turns her head to the side, a black lacquer stand with a cup of tea on it in her hand. Her is pulled back into a sleek bun, adorned with a comb, a pink bow, and floral hairpins. An attractive design, beautifully composed with the diagonals of the kimono collars and sword leading the eye back and forth down the page in a gentle zigzag.
