Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a monk scratching his head in a puzzled manner as he stares at a man holding a letter in each hand. At right, a beauty looks back over her shoulder with a worried expression as she tucks one hand into her robe. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with a comb, hairpin, floral ornament, and ribbons. Nice large figures set against a deep blue ground, with handsome woodgrain impression on the background.
