Series; Tales of Bravery from Great Japan

Tales of Bravery from Great Japan - Terrific design from Mitsukata's series "Tales of Bravery from Great Japan" (Dai Nippon chuyu gidan), which feature portraits of Japanese heroes from the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 - 1895. These lively scenes show soldiers in the midst of fighting, capturing the drama of the battlefield with wonderful detail. Little is known about this artist and series. A nice choice for a military collector or a student of history.

Image Size - 12 3/4" x 8 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with somewhat stiff paper. A couple creases at edges. Please see photos for details.
