Series; Collected Pictures of Birds and Flowers Drawn from Life (Kacho shashin zui)

Collected Pictures of Birds and Flowers Drawn from Life - Shigemasa's series "Collected Pictures of Birds and Flowers Drawn from Life" (Kacho shashin zui) features a variety of birds in their natural habitats. Perched on blossoming trees or flowering shrubs, the birds are carefully observed and wonderfully detailed, with fine line work in the feathers. This is the first time we've seen reprints of this Edo era series that was released in multiple volumes. A charming group of kacho-e or birds and flowers designs.
