True Feelings for the Guest Who Stays Overnight - Charming portrait of a beauty sitting on the each of a bed as she writes a letter, perhaps a love note for one of her guests for whom she has true feelings. She looks down, carefully studying what she has written, a brush between her teeth. An oval inset at upper left shows a sake kettle, a pipe, and cups on the floor beside a lacquer tray with a dishes of food, a shaft of light coming from a lantern nearby. A classic Edo era beauty design.
