Princess and Beauties in a Palace, 1852

Comments - Attractive scene of a princess and her companions in a palace. The beauty kneels on a cushion, smiling as she looks over her shoulder, one had atop a lacquer armrest. Her hair is pulled back into a large bun, adorned with ribbons and clusters of flowers. Behind her, blossoming cherry trees decorate a low folding screen which has insets of blinds, the opening at upper right in the shape of a crescent moon. A charming image with wonderful detail int eh elegant fabrics and furnishings, including light embossing on the white kimono trim and the cherry blossoms.
