Series; National Dances, 1959

Sadanobu III's National Dances - Sadanobu III's handsome series "National Dances" features kabuki actors in character performing some of Japan's most well-known traditional dances. These attractive designs are beautifully detailed with colorful costumes, delicate line work, and expressive faces. The figures are wonderfully suited to the narrow tanzaku or "poem slip" format, a traditional Japanese form dating back hundreds of years. Published by Uchida with publisher's stamp on reverse, and mounted to board as originally issued. A great series capturing the drama and elegance of these classic performances.

Image Size - 14" x 3 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Mounted to board. Toning, curling. Some prints have spotting. Please see photos for details.
