Kawarazaki Gonjuro as Takagi Shin'emon, 1863 - Great kabuki portrait of Kawarazaki Gonjuro as the Buddhist monk Takagi Shin'emon, staring over his shoulder with an angry frown. He holds a staff topped with a ringed finial called a shakujo, and has a trunk on his back containing a statue of a deity. A handsome design, nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Vertical and diagonal folds. Hole, repaired. Wrinkling throughout, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
