Series; Twelve Months of Beauties, 1898

March: Playing under the Cherry - Attractive spring triptych depicting a couple of girls playing beneath a blossoming cherry tree, one chasing after the other. Two women sit on the verandah at right, chatting as they watch the children. The beauty at right wears a lavender kimono patterned with water plants and tied with a green geometric print obi scattered with peonies. Her companion's robe is shaded from blue to light tan and decorated with baskets filled with cherry blossoms. At lower right, a small tray holds a tiny teapot and cups. A cloth panel is hung from the cherry trees at upper right to provide privacy for the group. A charming design with lovely color and detail in the kimono and obi fabrics. Includes beautiful burnishing on the beauties' hair, the black obi, and the black cushion.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Thinning and losses at edges, a few wormholes, repaired. Creasing and rippling. Please see photos for details.
