The Courtesan Murasaki in a Dragon Kimono - Handsome portrait of the courtesan Murasaki and her kamuro or child apprentice strolling through the Yoshiwara at night. She wears a black kimono patterned with a dragon clutching a jewel in its claws, and a red obi with a lion on it. The girl wears a matching robe, her hair adorned with clusters of leaves. The beauty wears geta clogs with three "teeth," identifying her as an oiran or high-ranking courtesan. A classic Edo era beauty design.
