Beauty with a Shamisen, circa 1830 - Charming image of a beauty with a shamisen, covered her mouth with her sleeve. Her kimono is bordered with balancing dolls, and features a crest on the shoulders and sleeves of two plovers, tied with a striped obi. A low red lacquer table beside her holds a dish of food, with a large basin on the floor nearby. A border of clouds separates the figure from a view of a temple in autumn, the grounds dotted with maple trees and pines. An attractive design from a rarely seen Eisen series.
