Naito Shinjuku, Yotsuya - Intriguing print depicting Shinjuku, a stop along the Koshu Highway, the view framed by the legs of the horses standing at right. The horses wear straw shoes, which gave traction when needed and also muffled sound. The closeness of the horses contrasts with the shops lining the street that recede into the distance, creating a sense of depth. A unique perspective, detailed with rich color and soft shading in the background.
