Peonies, 1847 - 1852 - Charming portrait of a beauty in a peony garden from a rarely seen Hiroshige series pairing women with flowers in the four seasons. The beauty smiles happily as she strolls past oversize blossoms and buds in pink and pale green enclosed by a low bamboo fence. The first time we've seen this subject.
