Sadanobu Hasegawa III - Born in Osaka, Sadanobu Hasegawa III was the third in a line of Japanese woodblock print artists. Sadanobu III specialized in kabuki designs and portraits of maiko or apprentice geishas, the majority of his prints commissioned by the Uchida Art Company of Kyoto. While depicting traditional subjects, his works have a modern sensibility, often with spare backgrounds just suggesting a setting. A nice choice for a collector interested in modern Japanese woodblocks.
