Original Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Street Performers, 1856

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene featuring three street performers. A young girl kneels in the center, looking back up at the fellow behind her, who holds the edge of her sleeve as he dances about. The man at right strikes a pose as he hops on one foot extending his fan to the side. A trunk rests on the ground behind them with a drum and a cloth bundle on top. Cherry blossoms frame the night sky above. An unusual design, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 20" + margins as shown
