Beauty, Dandy, and Commoner, 1874 - Interesting kabuki scene featuring a trio during an evening stroll. At left, the daughter Okina grins as she looks over her shoulder at the dandy behind her. He wears a yellow plaid coat over and olive green kimono and a western hat, his hair cropped short in the modern Meiji style. The fellow at right grimaces up at the dandy angrily as he holds a lantern in one hand, a tie-dyed cloth tucked under his other arm. From left, the actors are Sawamura Tossho, Bando Hikosaburo, and Ichikawa Sadanji. Nice large expressive figures set off by a deep blue night sky.
