Nakamura Shikan as a Sumo Wrestler, 1862 - Great kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan as a sumo wrestler standing at the foot of a bridge. He leans forward with his hands clasped before him, frowning angrily. His outer kimono features large shogi game pieces, worn over a red and white robe with a large rope design, and a fringed apron. A willow tree frames the night sky above the water. A handsome design with an interesting setting.
